This document collection is part of the OceanStates project, and contains United Nations treaties and agreements that make up the framework of international law and international instruments concerning issues that are central to the project.
The Collection includes key documents related to these topics from the UN Security Council, the General Assembly, and the subsidiary body to the General Assembly, the Human Rights Council. These are main UN organs that make the formal UN documents which, by the circumstances, are adopted by the states parties.
The Collection is a work in progress, and will continue to be updated and filled in with relevant documents. The aforementioned UN organs and bodies have been prioritized in so far as they are sources of formal UN documents that are of particular importance and relevance to the OceanStates project.
All the documents are publicly available documents that can be found at various official UN document databases, which is referred to at the different Collection subsites. The Collection is meant to provide easy access and overview of central documents related to OceanStates.
The UN Documents collection has been compiled and constructed by Ms Anja Marie Solheim, a former student at the Faculty of Law at the University of Bergen. Ms Solheim has experience from the Permanent Mission of Norway to the United Nations in New York and is affiliated with OceanStates as research assistant.
