Document databases

  • United Nations Treaty Collection
    • United Nations Treaty Collection is a collection of certified true copies of all multilateral treaties deposited with the Secretary-General.
    • Link: treaties.un.org
  • UN Documents
    • The UN Documents-site is a collection of UN documents systematized according to the main UN bodies (General Assembly, Security Council, Economic and Social Council, Secretariat, International Court of Justice and Trusteeship Council). It contains resolutions, meeting records, reports of the Secretary General etc. The site is especially useful for finding links to the resolutions of different UN Bodies, including the meeting records and links to meeting coverage in UN Meeting Coverage and Press Releases.

  • Papersmart
    • Website providing electronic access to meeting programmes, agendas, documents and statements. Particularly useful tool when attending UN meetings.

  • UN Audiovisual Library of International Law
    • Library including historic archives, lecture series and a research library on International law.
    • Link: legal.un.org
  • United Nations Digital Library System (documents database)
    • A database of all UN documents, which can be found inter alia by keyword search. Very useful when you already have the UN document number (for example A/RES/63/282 or A/S-22/PV.5).

UN media outlets

  • UN News
    • A news portal by the Untited Nations Department of Public Information that enables the reader to navigate the work of the United Nations and quickly access top news stories, special reports magazine programmes, etc. regarding all topics, including climate change.

  • UN Journal
    • Website that gives a daily overview of UN meetings coming up and documents regarding these meetings.
    • Link: journal.un.org
  • UN Meetings Coverage and Press Releases
    • Summaries of official meetings and events and press releases from the main United Nations bodies, as well as offices and departments of the secretariat. Within a few hours adjournment of a meeting, a press release is posted on the website, giving a blow-by-blow account as well as an overview. Published by the United Nations Department of Global Communications.
